Timoney Knox LLP, a well-regarded Montgomery County, PA law firm, has an opening for an experienced Trusts, Estates and Corporate Paralegal. The successful candidate will have the general responsibility for all aspects of the administration of estates and trusts, corporate matters, and must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interact with clients and colleagues.
Duties include:
- Identify estate assets, perform probate functions and independently administer estates
- Maintain the appropriate financial records for use in preparing tax returns and fiduciary accountings
- Assist with the preparation, review and filing of income tax, inheritance and estate tax returns
- Prepare fiduciary accountings for estates and trusts
- Prepare Receipt and Release Agreements, Schedules of Distribution and related documentation for informal settlement of estates and trusts
- Maintain and file corporate records, including resolutions, board of director changes, annual reports, minutes, etc.
- Formation of new LLCs, corporations and partnerships, including filing of incorporation documents, FinCEN reports, obtaining tax identification numbers, and preparing governing documents such as bylaws and operating agreements.
- Provide support for business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, asset and stock purchases, formations and dissolutions.
- Prepare personal income tax returns, frequent communication with income tax clients and tax preparers within firm, assist with management of income tax practice.
- Prepare documents and support attorneys for real estate closings
Candidates should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent client service
- Aptitude for complex financial matters
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficiency with Lackner software
- Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax software
- Experience with corporate and real estate matters
- Experience in preparation of income tax returns for individuals, estates and trusts is a plus
