Flagger:
- Set up safe work zones with proper equipment
- Control traffic flow with stop/slow paddles
- Use hand signals and directional signs to direct traffic around work sites
- Appropriately position warning, detour signs, set up barricades, and traffic cones around work sites
- Familiar with traffic control setups & designs required by VDOT
- Follows safety rules and regulations on all work sites, safely controlling vehicular, pedestrian, and traffic movements in a work area; duties may vary according to job assignment
- Maintain a clean job site Excellent work habits and organizational skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Familiar with traffic control safety, setups, and design
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to wear necessary PPE
- Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments
- Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment
- Clean driver's license
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test
- **Given the dangerous nature of the work required, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time**
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, move and maneuver heavy weights of 10 pounds frequently, and weights of up to 50 pounds
- Gripping, Climbing, Balancing
- Pulling and pushing
