```Purpose of this Role ```
Big Dutchman Inc. Is seeking an individual who will be focused on managing the operational buyer team and actively engaged in sourcing decisions and analysis to support our business. The objective is to improve our margins and our competitive sales position through cost reductions, reduced lead-times, and a constantly evolving supply chain landscape. The Purchasing Manager will work closely with the Vice President of Supply Chain, Engineering, Customer Service and Sales to reach these objectives, and our goal of consistent profitability.
The Initial responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Focus on total cost reduction throughout the supply chain balanced with urgency of quick reaction orders to support building projects
- Manage Operational purchasing team to achieve cost saving opportunities and goals
- Ensure timely delivery of products and services from vendors
- Develop solutions for quick turnaround supply requirements
- Utilize market data and trends to mitigate supply chain risks or improve negotiating position • Manage and prioritize quoting and sourcing activities with the extended team
- Manage purchasing policies and associated compliance
- Actively engaged with material scheduling of contract manufacturing suppliers and internal assembly operations
- Generate RFQs and negotiate pricing & terms with suppliers
- Determine, evaluate, and select suppliers
- Develop long term supplier relationships with the Strategic Sourcing Manager
- Work cooperatively with internal customers to ensure suppliers are meeting requirements of the company
- Work closely with BD sister companies to capitalize on global sourcing opportunities
- Develop direct reports and establish succession plans for positions Qualifications
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact across different global cultures •
Requirements include:
Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or equivalent
- Prior purchasing team management experience
- Minimum of 10 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiating skills
- Excellent analytical skills including working knowledge of Total Cost Concept
- Prior experience with sheet metal fabrication, stamping, and injection molding
- Familiarity with ISO quality control procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive problem solver and effective cross functional engagement
- Ability to effectively utilize information systems to analyze large data files
- Working knowledge of common PC software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
