Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat children and young adults with acute and chronic occupational therapy needs, considering all client factors, performance skills, performance patterns, and contexts/environments
- Work with children and young adults with a variety of diagnosis and needs including but not limited to neurological, neuromuscular, developmental delay, pervasive disorders, mental health disorders/needs, cognitive impairments, and orthopedic injuries) in order to promote and or restore function
- Create plan of care to achieve written short term and long-term goals in order to facilitate increased participation and independence with meaningful daily occupations including activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure, and social participation
- Collect data and clearly document response to intervention, including collect data, prepare charts, record clinical progress notes, and perform other supporting duties
- Supervise Occupational Therapy interns, if applicable
Requirements:
- Current Texas State Licenses in Occupational Therapy
- Education level: Masters
- Spanish speaking is a plus
- Experience working with children with a variety of communication disorders (including apraxia, phonological disorders, autism, and other developmental differences) is preferred
- Experience in Pediatrics Preferred: Children who have developmental delays and difficulties functioning in one or more areas of their lives. Facilitating performance of coordinated motor skills and/or use of the hands, as well as promoting skills for listening and following directions, self-regulation, social play, dressing, and grooming.
