Responsibilities
- Review information provided from sales and estimating. i.e., Customer drawings, specifications, tolerances/GD&T. Make any design for manufacturing (DFM) changes that may apply to the product.
- Create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Solidworks.
- Use multiple software tools to create programs, manufacturing files, and proof design for manufacturing (DFM) changes.
- 2D cad software (AutoCAD 2004)
- Nesting software (Sigmanest)
- Forming software (Sigmabend)
- Tube laser software (Sigmatube)
- Machining software
- Fixturing software (Nucleo)
- Provide detailed information to internal team members for review of DFM changes to customer design.
- Collaborate with customers to present the requested changes for approval or advisement.
- Review and update ERP method of manufacturing (Routing, BOM).
- Create jobs for production.
- Collaborate with production team during the manufacturing process.
- Use problem solving and communication to define and correct any issues that may arise.
- Design and create methods of manufacturing for fixtures, manufacturing aids, and shop improvements.
- Review fixture performance with production team, make improvements as needed.
- Aid in process definition and updating to be as robust as possible for the department.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in drafting and 3D modeling using Solidworks.
- Sheet metal, weldments experience is preferred.
- 3 years working in a metal fabrication environment.
- Experience with manufacturing and fabrication including raw material processing, forming, machining, and welding.
- Ability to define problems, to collect data, establish facts and to draw conclusions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or planning/schedule form, including complex/technical information.
- Must possess strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, sales reps, and employees within the company and respond to inquiries or complaints.
- Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office, Solidworks, and ERP systems (Epicor knowledge is a plus).
- Ability to identify problems, to present solutions, to meet deadlines maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Positive attitude, self-driven, detailed oriented who is eager to learn and further develop skills.

- SolidWorks sheet metal and weldments.
- Epicor ERP system.
- Previous experience in all areas related to the manufacturing processes at Longhorn.

Physical Demands
- This position requires accessing all areas in the plant necessary to monitor the progress of orders. Regularly required to stand or sit and move around the facility.
Education and Certification
- Desired: Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
Compensation
- Salary is based upon education, experience, and skills.
