We seek a dependable On-Call / PRN Echo Tech to join our team!
Performs various cardiology procedures, such as echocardiograms, carotid ultrasounds, lower extremity arterial studies, venous reflex studies, aorta duplex scans, and stress echocardiograms/bubble studies. Prepares paperwork accordingly.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited school with an ultrasound technology or allied health degree and have previous on-the-job training and experience.
- At least two years of adult echocardiography with Doppler and Color Flow and at least one year as a cardiology technologist.
- Certified ARDMS or Credentialing with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) is preferred. ARDMS or RCS must be obtained within six months of employment.
- Current BLS certifications required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Echocardiograms/ Bubble Studies
- Records all data necessary for complete Echocardiogram study according to established policy/procedure/physician request.
- Process all data, including subjective findings that must be interpreted accurately, and review with the physician as needed.
2. Carotid Ultrasounds
- Records all data necessary for completing a carotid ultrasound study according to established policy/procedure physician requests.
- Process all data, including subjective findings, that needs to be interpreted accurately, including reviewing with the physician as needed.
3. Lower Extremity Arterial Studies
- Records all data necessary for complete Lower extremity arterial studies according to established policy/procedure physician request.
- Process all data, including subjective findings that must be interpreted accurately, and review with the physician as needed.
4. Aorta Duplex Scan
- Records all data necessary for complete Duplex scan according to established policy/procedure physician request.
- Process all data, including subjective findings that must be interpreted accurately, and review with the physician as needed.
5. Stress Echocardiograms
- Attached electrodes to patient, confirmed consent signed and recorded EKG according to established procedures.
- Records all data necessary for complete Stress echocardiogram according to established policy/procedure physician request.
- Process all data, including subjective findings that must be interpreted accurately, and review with the physician as needed.
6. Holter Monitor
- Attached are electrodes and a digital recorder for the patient to record EKG signals for 24/48 hours, according to established procedures.
7. Venous Reflux Studies
- Records all data necessary for complete venous reflux study according to established policy/procedure/physician request.
8. Office Support
- Processes all data accurately and timely for physician interpretation according to departmental policy.
- Process all billing and interpret reports accurately and per policy/procedure.
- Schedules procedures to ensure efficient service to patients/physicians.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Frequent: Bend, Squat, Twist, Push/Pull up to 20 pounds without assistance; up to 50 with assistance; Lift/Carry up to 20 pounds without assistance; up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Occasional: Climb, Kneel, Crouch, Distinguish Colors, Exposure to noise/high-pitched noise.
- Must be able to remain vigilant and focused while multitasking in a busy environment and handle stressful situations successfully, calmly, and professionally.
