Position Overview: A grill cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of grilled food items, ensuring they are cooked to perfection and meet the established quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Prepare and portion ingredients required for grilling, such as meats, vegetables, seafood, and other grillable items. Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly seasoned, and ready for cooking.
Grill Operation: Operate and maintain the grill equipment, including gas or charcoal grills, flattop grills, or open flames. Adhere to proper cooking temperatures and times to achieve desired outcomes for various dishes.
Cooking Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of different cooking techniques, including grilling, searing, and charbroiling. Ensure that the grill is always at the correct temperature to produce consistently high-quality food.
Food Safety: Strictly follow food safety and sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the highest level of cleanliness in the grill station. Adhere to health department regulations and guidelines.
Order Accuracy: Read and comprehend order tickets to accurately cook each dish according to the guests' specifications and special requests. Ensure all special instructions are followed diligently.
Time Management: Manage grill cooking times efficiently to ensure that orders are completed in a timely manner and served hot to guests.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of grilled food items to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards of taste, appearance, and texture. Maintain consistent food quality throughout service hours.
Collaboration: Coordinate with other kitchen staff, such as line cooks, chefs, and servers, to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food delivery to guests.
Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of grill station supplies, including food ingredients, seasonings, and cleaning materials.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the grill area clean and organized at all times. Regularly clean and maintain grill equipment and utensils to prolong their life and avoid breakdowns.

Requirements:
