Job Summary
The Revenue Cycle Manager will develop, plan, organize and implement current and future strategies for billing, remittance processing, denial management, improving cash flow and managing the overall health of receivables. This position will also be responsible for managing and contributing to the day-to-day operations of HopeTree Family Services as it relates to full revenue cycle functions, which include billing, collections, and claims management. This role will involve creating written processes as needed and training team members. Additionally, this role will maintain and advance the finance functions of the electronic health record system and manage contracts, relationships, and processes with third party payors.
Job Requirements
· A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or healthcare administration and at least three years of job-related experience in the medial billing industry.
· Relevant supervisory experience is required.
· Behavioral health billing experience is preferred.
· Must have solid understanding of Medicaid and other health insurance providers.
· High proficiency with electronic health record and/or accounting software.
· Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Position Responsibilities
Duties of the role will include, but are not limited to:
· Support the achievement of the Company’s vision, strategic initiatives, and business strategy and objectives, by actively engaging in strategic discussions and projects and meeting agreed upon deliverables and deadlines.
· Lead and develop a high performing team that administers the revenue cycle. Manage team performance through regular feedback, performance reviews, one-to-one meetings, and establishment of metrics to monitor timeliness and effectiveness of team activities.
· Direct and oversee the policies, procedures, and initiatives of HopeTree’s revenue cycle activities to optimize the revenue generation and collection across all programs.
· Review, design, and implement processes surrounding billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, and collections.
· Manage and maintain finance and billing components of the electronic health record system, including setting up new payers, contracts, rates, and service billing.
· Coordinate with other processes, including admissions, pricing, service delivery, and accounting, to deliver effective and integrated workflow.
· Track metrics relate to revenue cycle, including billing error rates, turnaround times, accounts receivable aging, collection, and write offs, to develop sound revenue cycle analysis and reporting.
· Prepare monthly forecasts of revenue, collections, and write-offs.
· Oversees provider enrollment applications, initial and re-enrollment status, with Medicaid and Commercial Payors.
· Assist team members with electronic health record system and AR functions of accounting system.
· Handle complex billing questions and issues.
· Compile and prepare reports to analyze trends and make recommendations.
· Maintains appropriate internal controls over accounts receivable and revenue cycle management process.
· Provide and/or prepare supporting documentation as requested for audits, projects, or other business needs.
· Establish and maintain procedures to provide detailed instructions on how to perform critical duties of this position.
· Successfully complete required training modules by assigned due dates.
· Serve as back-up to other positions in the Business Office, as necessary.
· Comply with all applicable policies and regulations, including HIPAA.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
