Job Summary:
As the Laboratory Director you will oversee the Laboratory and several Lab Managers who are responsible for the daily operations within our organization. The selected candidate will provide leadership and direction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and operation of the laboratory organization
- Oversee the personnel, service levels, budget, and quality measures for the laboratory operation
- Responsible for personnel requirements, such as competencies and licensing, including any state or county, are maintained to ensure key quality and operational performance is in alignment with organizational priorities as well
- Ensures accreditation with The College of American Pathologists (CAP), and readiness for scheduled accreditation inspection, self and mock inspections, and focused periodic process, department, or site-specific mock inspection. Prepares and reports annual assessment of Laboratory Quality and Safety
- Evaluates data associated with instrumentation such as correlation studies, AMR verifications, quality control, and acceptable limits to ensure compliance, accuracy, understanding of all analytical processes, and suggest improvements
- Ensure that prompt corrective action is taken for all lab audit findings or deficiencies note
- Oversees laboratory safety consistent with CAP, OSHA standards and safety program
- Maintain quality accuracy and ensure all quality monitors meet laboratory objectives
- Provide direction for disaster preparedness for laboratory operations
- Ensure that the laboratory passes all audits and maintains appropriate regulatory status
- Enforce applicable policies and procedures throughout the entire laboratory operations
Requirements
- PhD or MS Degree with a Clinical Laboratory focus or equivalent
- Prior experience with 6years of supervisory in managerial role within a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and state regulations
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Proven success in training and developing both technical and non-technical employees
- Ability to problem solve and provide solutions under minimal supervision
- Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
