JOB TITLE: Speech - Language Pathologist w/ AAC Emphasis
JOB SUMMARY: Completes all assigned evaluations, therapeutic services, and consultative services related to speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency as required by the school districts and documented in Individual Education Plans (IEP’s). Supports IEP teams in the evaluation, procurement, and implementation of AAC devices and strategies for the purpose of increasing/improving student access to academic programming and progress toward annual educational goals.
EDUCATION: Master’s level Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) Speech - Language Pathologist (SLP) licensed with the States of New Hampshire and Maine.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience working with children with significant and multiple disabilities. Knowledge of provision of services in accordance with QIAT and SETT framework preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Free of restrictions which would limit the use of the body as it relates to the repetitive lifting of weight up to 50 pounds, and physical management of student consistent with CPI training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver's license, obtain and maintain certification in First Aid, CPR, and CPI. Participate in professional development as determined by supervisor. Have or obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Adheres to ASHA standards and guided by its code of ethics during service delivery.
2. Supervises Assistants and interns as needed and specified in ASHA’s requirements for supervision.
3. Provides direct (group or individual) and/or indirect (consultative) services to students requiring speech-language or assistive technology services using a variety of treatment methods, equipment, and evidence-based strategies as documented in the student’s IEP.
4. Completes all documentation, including daily notes, Medicaid documentation, and units of service billing.
5. Develops/maintains an efficient schedule to deliver services in an appropriate time frame.
6 Prepares speech-language and/or assistive technology IEP goals and objectives.
7. Serves as a member of assigned student’s IEP teams including attending consult, in-house team, and IEP planning meetings.
8. Completes progress reports reflective of IEP objectives.
9. Maintains up to date speech-language and/or assistive technology evaluations and treatment plans as approved by the school district responsible for student services.
10. Works closely with students, teachers, paraeducators, parents, and other therapists for each student receiving services to ensure continuity and provide training.
11. Within the bounds of certification / licensure, provides rehabilitative assistance oversight of Teacher Assistants and Paraeducators per NH Medicaid to School regulations.
12. Attends school staff meetings and in-service trainings.
13. Provides in-service training regarding speech-language therapy and AAC to staff, students, families, and community partners as necessary.
14. Support IEP teams in the assessment, trial/selection, procurement, modification, implementation and repair of assistive technology tools and services.
15. Assists with on-going evaluation of effectiveness of selected tools/services. Aids in assistive technology transitions within school environment, and upon exiting school services.
16. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Related Services.
JOB SUPERVISOR: Director of Related Services
WORK SCHEDULE: Compensation is based on 35 hours per week during the school year and summer school (207 days). Daily work hours are from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
