The primary duties of a Night Crew Yard Worker include, but are not limited to, pulling and staging orders for delivery trucks. A Night Crew Yard Worker will handle all our products. All work will be completed safely and accurately with the customer and companies’ best interests in mind.
· Accurately pull material for delivery.
· To complete the delivery orders, a night crew employee will be required to use a forklift, overhead crane, propane torch, chop saw, tape measure, caliper, and a bander.
· The Yard Worker will gather all carbon, aluminum, or stainless-steel then will bundle the material and stage it on the designated delivery rack.
· When pulling is completed the employee will load the orders onto a bobtail or flatbed trailer from a load list.
· Comply with all safety guidelines.
· Wrap/package all material.
· General yard clean up.
· Maintain equipment with daily checklists.
· Any other duties as assigned.
1. Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum Experience Required: 1 year forklift experience.
3. Skills Required:
i. Read/Write English Language.
ii. Forklift, overhead crane, propane torch.
iii. Be able to measure using Caliper/tape measurer.
iv. Have a Valid California Driver’s License.
v. Ability to work independently.
vi. Ability to work in a team environment.
vii. Attention to detail.
· Typical Working Conditions:
- Outdoor in the elements, such as cold, heat, rain, wind, etc.
- May be exposed to chemicals such as paint fumes, fumes from cutting on the band, and fumes from torch cutting.
- Noise levels Vary.
- Fast-paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
· Equipment Used:
- Propane Forklift (8000+ Capacity)
- Hand Tools (Pliers, Band cutters, Pry Bar, Box Cutter, etc.)
- Crane, Anvil Crane
- Banding Machine (plastic and metal)
- Measuring Tape, Calipers, PPE
· Essential Physical Tasks:
- Employees will use their hands to pull material, push material, and stack material. Bending, standing, walking, lifting, climbing up and down ladders and forklifts.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
