Community Forklift is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting the community through sustainability, creativity, and economic opportunity. We are a reuse warehouse where donated building materials, appliances, furniture, and architectural salvage are made available to neighbors in need, homeowners, nonprofits, contractors, and artists at a low cost or for free.
As a Truck Helper:
- You will assist the truck driver in the safe collection of material donations that are picked up by Community Forklift.
- You will assist the truck driver with the physical management and general upkeep of the truck, including all related tools and equipment.
- You will assist the truck driver with loading/unloading and securing of materials in the truck.
- You will check daily schedule of pickups.
- You will communicate and provide spotting while the truck is maneuvering at job sites.
Truck Helper Job requirements:
- Able to lift and carry 60Lbs or more.
- Able to use and read a tape measure accurately.
- Availability for operating hours 8am-4pm (40 hour work week).
- Construction, carpentry, or handyman experience preferred.
- Experience using manual moving equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, dolly, and push carts) preferred.
- A commitment to the Community Forklift missions of reuse, sustainability, and community service.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED preferred
- 2 years experience
- 6 years work experience in a warehouse environment or as a driver may be substituted in lieu of education
