The Opportunity: Organizational Development Specialist
The Port of Virginia – Virginia Port Authority is seeking an Organizational Development Specialist to coordinate, manage, and administer employee development and engagement programs across the Port of Virginia.
What You'll Do: Responsibilities
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and serve as the point of contact for LMS administration. Ensure the LMS is maintained, organized, and has up-to-date, relevant content. Troubleshoots issues and address user inquiries.
- Coordinate and contribute to the design and implementation of initiatives that promote and enhance colleague and leadership development and engagement.
- Partner with business leaders to determine developmental needs and identify and recommend suitable learning solutions accordingly.
- Manage and process employee development registrations, tuition reimbursements, and other departmental expenses.
- Develop and curate training content and materials that meet organizational needs.
- Work directly with vendors to meet training and development needs. Maintain vetted vendor list and complete any vendor evaluations accordingly.
- Facilitate training, workshops, and webinars for employees.
- Maintain certifications required to sustain training and development programs.
- Measure, evaluate, and report training and education metrics and outcomes, taking appropriate improvement actions as needed.
- Support employee reward and recognition programs.
- Support development, implementation, and monitoring of performance events and performance improvement plans.
- Ensures public records and information are managed, maintained, and disposed in accordance to the Library of Virginia retention and disposition schedules and the Virginia Port Authority records management policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all security, safety, and environmental regulations and policies within work area at all times. This includes properly addressing issues through action or reporting issues and concerns to Manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
Who You Are: Qualifications
- Two years of human resources, organizational development, or learning and development experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
