Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with various tasks and projects
- Conduct research and gather relevant information
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as contracts and pleadings
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Manage document management systems and databases
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Schedule depositions, meetings, and court hearings
- Answer phone calls and provide professional phone etiquette
- Electronically file documents with the court
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document management systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Proficient in using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong administrative skills, including filing, record keeping, and data entry
