POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will help maintain the company’s fleet by completing inspections, preventive maintenance requirements, effectively diagnose and repair, as well as make adjustments and alignments.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preventative maintenance on trucks and commercial tractor-trailers. This includes conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and repair worn or damaged parts, checking tires, wheels, brakes, air systems, starting systems, engine/transmission/chassis, clutch/linkage, and emissions system.
- Perform trailer repair to include checking running gear including brakes, tires/wheels, air systems, suspension, electrical systems, and lights.
- Perform truck and truck-trailer DOT inspection.
- May verify vehicle performance by conducting road drives and adjusting controls.
- Assist in cleaning and keeping the workshop clean and organized.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license; previous experience performing duties stated above or diesel knowledge gained through a trade-tech school
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Also, the ability to read and interpret documents. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to drive.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Noise level in the work environment is normally moderate but can be loud. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors and exposure to hard weather may occur Most work will be performed during day-time hours Monday – Friday, with occasional required night, weekend and overtime. Travel required as necessary.
