Reports to: Captain of Special Services
Position Summary
The Data Processor performs duties related to the entry of department data into computers, provides reports involving department data, and produces police paperwork.
Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to)
- Processes and files daily case reports.
- Assists individuals on the phone and in person who are inquiring about accident information, court dates, fingerprint appointments, etc.
- Processes department mail and distributes it to proper divisions.
- Enters and updates information in various systems to include warrants, backgrounds, traffic citations, and warning tickets.
- Processes payments for fingerprinting, VIN checks, mailed citations, crash reports, etc.
- Acts as agency lead for data input and processing within the various software systems.
- Enters handwritten citations, reviews/processes parking appeals, and schedules court dates for all upheld appeals.
- Runs license plates on all unpaid parking citations to ensure all required information is correct in the parking system.
- Processes neighborhood parking and handgun application permits.
- Assists administrative staff with entering training data into the portal.
- Processes all department Production of Documents Requests.
- Tracks and processes false alarm notifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Ability to maintain files, well organized, and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of various computer systems (i.e., Office 365) and/or the ability to learn new computer systems quickly.
- Ability to keep aspects of the job confidential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that include the ability to get along and deal tactfully with others.
Safety Requirements

- Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, safety hazard, or property damage.
- Comply with all company and customer OSHA, safety policies, procedures, rules, and best practices.
- Participate in safety meetings and training.

- Ability to use and operate common equipment to complete work duties safely and effectively.
Work Schedule
This position is based on a standard workweek, Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 4:00PM; however, it is occasionally required to attend meetings and work sessions outside of normal business hours. These instances may include client meetings, public board meetings, or team collaborations that fall outside the typical schedule. Flexibility in these situations is necessary as it contributes to our commitment to our constituent’s satisfaction and project success.
Working Environment
Primarily works in an office environment. Casual and professional dress is required for the office and meetings. Noise levels are usually low in the office setting.
Physical Requirements
While executing the responsibilities of this position, effective communication skills involving talking and hearing are regularly utilized. The incumbent will be required to perform job duties while sitting or standing, with proficiency in fine motor skills to complete tasks such as typing or writing. The role may involve lifting or moving items up to ten (10) pounds.
