Position Description
Position Title: Quality Engineer
Work Location: Austin, TX
I. Job Summary
Reviews all PCBA, Mechanical, System Level factory yield, and failure analysis data provided by the Manufacturing Quality Engineers and Failure Analysis technicians. This position identifies trend items, root cause, and drives corrective actions on those items.
Work involves communicating with both internal and external customers and suppliers.
This position will drive the sub-tier quality initiative.
II. Essential Functions
1. Responsible for weekly Quality summary reports for both internal team and external customer.
2. Monitor defect trends and engage both the sub-tier vendors and factory when those trends impact quality goals.
3. Responsible for driving both the sub-tier vendors and factory for root cause and corrective action on all trend items.
4. Responsible for the report on sub-tier and factory failure analysis reports to both the internal quality team and the external customer.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
III. Required Qualifications
A. Education, Experience, and Training
1. Experience or coursework in PCBA, Quality, and Mechanical Engineering.
2. Bachelor's degree in engineering field. One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
B. Knowledge and Skills
1. Excellent skills at analyzing factory quality and failure trends to determine process, component, or design flaws.
2. Excellent knowledge of Electronic Theory, PC system architecture, electronic component functions within digital and analog circuits.
3. Very good understanding of SMT/PIH manufacturing, Test Processes, RMA
Repair Process.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all Business levels (Mfg
Operator through Senior Management).
5. Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and collaborative skills.
6. Skilled with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
C. Other Requirements
1. Ability to work inside, around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane.
2. Ability to work with equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing essential functions, including computers and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, phones, and cars.
IV. Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in Silicon Manufacturing and Testing a plus.
2. Knowledge of Mechanical Manufacturing a plus.
3. Ability to speak ANY of the following languages is a plus: Mandarin Chinese,
Spanish or Vietnamese

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
