Job Summary
· Oversees recruitment and hiring, compensation and benefits processes, staff training and development.
· Enforces workplace policies and procedures and reinforces organizational culture, core values, and ethical and behavioral expectations.
· Hands-on position (in office Monday through Friday) with a food co-packer with plant facilities in IL and NV. Position is based in IL.
General Accountabilities
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment Strategies
· Manages the talent acquisition lifecycle (i.e., interviews, job offers, background checks, job descriptions, onboarding, orientation, assessment/skills exercises, employee integration)
· Sources, recruits, interviews, and selects applicants for hire in accordance with US federal laws and organizational policies to adhere to legal and ethical requirements in hiring (i.e., Title VII, FLSA, independent contractors).
· Plans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitudes toward organizational objectives.
· Creates, coordinates and implements staff training and professional development programs.
· Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and other work-related information.
Payroll
· Prepare weekly internal payroll as well as review and approve time records for employees hired through staffing agencies.
· Maintain employee personnel data, status changes, salary changes and permanent payroll records.
· Manage and communicate total rewards programs including compensation, payroll, recognition programs, and incentives.
· Ensure compliance with the Illinois Paid leave act with tracking of internal time and employee staffing agency time.
Compliance
· Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
· Support workplace programs related to US federal health, safety, security, and privacy laws and regulations (i.e., OSHA, workers’ compensation, emergency response, workplace violence, substance abuse, legal postings, documentation, investigations).
· Provide interpretation and ensure compliance to organizational policies and procedures, including employee handbook, SOP’s, time and attendance policies.
· Process and support the resolution of employee complaints, concerns, or conflicts and escalate as needed by investigation, documentation, initiation, and recommendation of solutions procedures.
· Complete the annual OSHA 300 Log and EEO-1 reporting as required.
Job Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years of related Human Resources and Payroll experience
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
