Our client, a major player in the travel and hospitality industry is looking to hire a Service Desk Technician to handle the IT Test Environment on a contract basis. This is a Hybrid Position requiring 3 days in the office (Monday-Wednesday).
The ideal candidate must have
great troubleshooting skills, along with soft/communication skills, and be able to document clearly.
You will be responsible for managing non-production release environments. Specifically for ensuring these
test environments meet the needs of both releases and independent projects. This involves coordinating the synchronization of hardware and software updates (operating systems, databases, middleware, applications, etc.). This requires solid technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
How You'll Shine:
- Overall ownership of non-production release environments. Partner with project teams and Infrastructure Architecture to finalize environment requirements during planning. Identify environment risks. Escalation for application issues preventing testing. Maintain schedule for use of environments. Coordinate sharing of environments among projects to ensure effective utilization. Manage schedule and communication of patching, infrastructure/middleware deployment and configuration requests, and Performance Test requests. Coordinate validation of changes.
- Act as the first point of triage for all environment-related defects. Execution of environment smoke tests and analysis of failure. Communicate and drive the resolution of defects by working with testers, developers, and infrastructure owners. Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis of the issues.
- Measure and report on environment availability metrics. Identify and implement process improvements to avoid issues in the future. Ensure compliance with the deployment process including the smoke tests after each deployment.
- Manage and communicate environment updates with current production data snapshots and source code. Work with other organizations to secure resources (Ex space) for non-production release environments.
- Manage and document the details of each environment.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems is a plus

- Demonstrates the ability to leverage Microsoft Excel, Word, Jira, MS Teams, and AppDynamics
- Automation script execution such as Selenium
- Project coordination and/or configuration management experience is a plus.
