SUMMARY
As a Drawing Review Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of technical drawings and schematics used in various engineering and manufacturing processes. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously examine and analyze drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify potential errors, inconsistencies, and compliance issues. Through thorough review and collaboration with engineering and design teams, you will contribute to the optimization of designs for manufacturability, functionality, and adherence to quality standards. Attention to detail, technical proficiency, and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct comprehensive reviews of technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to understand design requirements, dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
2. Identify and analyze potential errors, discrepancies, or inconsistencies in drawings, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
3. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to address drawing-related issues, provide feedback, and recommend modifications or improvements.
4. Analyze complex technical problems and propose practical solutions to optimize designs for manufacturability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
5. Maintain detailed records of drawing reviews, annotations, and correspondence, ensuring proper documentation and filing for future reference.
6. Identify opportunities to streamline drawing review processes, implement best practices, and contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and quality.
7. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Proven experience in technical drawing review, interpretation, or a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
2. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), symbols, and conventions.
3. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to identify and resolve drawing-related issues.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
5. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to engineering drawings and documentation.
6. Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office and manufacturing environment. Work may require local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work. This is not a safety sensitive position.
