Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical procedures by properly sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment. Your attention to detail and knowledge of aseptic techniques will contribute to the overall success of our healthcare facility.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate techniques and solutions
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established protocols
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and washers
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that sterile supplies are readily available for procedures
- Follow infection control guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques and best practices
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment effectively and safely
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
