Summary:
A Home Health Aide (HHA) Trainee will train to become a Home Health Aide certified in NYS. Training will encompass classroom and clinical training. The Home Health Aide provides assistance with personal care, housekeeping, and other related supportive tasks to clients with health care needs in the home or healthcare setting. This position is eligible to participate in the THRIVE program that provides education and a Workforce Coach to support them through their first year of employment.
Duties:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Help with meal preparation and medication reminders
- Perform light housekeeping tasks
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Follow care plans and maintain accurate medical documentation
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and respect client confidentiality
- Lift and transfer clients safely when needed
Experience:
- Prior experience in caregiving, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities is preferred
- Familiarity with medical documentation systems
- Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals in need
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physical ability to lift and assist clients as required
- Knowledge of cleanliness standards and infection control practices
