Body Energy Club is all about community and customer connection by supporting a healthy lifestyle to make a positive impact. We are a Canadian and US West Coast-based company of 15 retail stores focused on vitamins, nutritional supplements, and proteins. Each location includes a smoothie bar serving refreshing smoothies, bowls, and juices using real food along with healthy grab-and-go prepared food. Four more smoothie bars in Chicago are within the Equinox gyms.
We also partner with local businesses to provide prepared meals and snacks that appeal to a variety of tastes and lifestyle preferences. Whether someone has a restrictive diet or is just looking to get real food that makes them feel good, Body Energy Club now provides affordable and convenient health options to the Chicago community without compromise.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for customer-focused individuals to join our team as full-time and part-time Smoothie Masters (baristas) supporting Body Energy Club’s iconic smoothie bar. This position requires to have open early morning and evening availability to join our Liconoln Common, Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, and South Loop Equinox locations. On a daily basis team members will create a variety of smoothies and bowls while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining an organized food-safe environment.

How do you contribute to Body Energy Club?
- Provide outstanding customer service experience to all individuals visiting stores
- Carefully review to ensure smoothies and bowls tickets are made as they are received
- Follow recipe standards for smoothies and bowls and adhere to presentation standards
- Deliver quality smoothies to customers by addressing client name, protein type, and customizations if necessary
- Clean all equipment required to produce smoothies such as blenders, spoons, knives, machines, etc.
- Replenish ingredients as required
- Communicate inventory shortages to Smoothie Bar Shift Leads as necessary
- Assist with daily store operations such as managing till, safety and security while making smoothies
- Ensure refrigerator temperatures meet food safety guidelines and documented
- Prepare sanitizer solution and check frequently
- Follow updated operational policies and procedures as communicated
- Maintain a food-safe and sanitary environment
What your schedule will look like:
- A regular schedule with an on-call option to extend your hours to support shifts at multiple downtown locations
- Our stores are open from 5:45 am – 9:30 pm (10 pm @ Lincon Common), shorter hours on the weekend
- A minimum of 32 hours per week for full-time employees
- Enjoy working in a positive team environment and building great relationships with their coworkers and customers.
- Maintain constant punctual attendance and contribute to positive team morale
- Must be able to come in under short notice (i.e. on-call situations)
Education/Certifications:
- Food Sanitation Certification is mandatory for FT and preferred for PT employees
Experience:
- 1 year of experience in the retail or restaurant industry (preferred, but not required)
- 1 year of customer service experience (preferred, but not required)
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves daily exposure to elements such as noise, dust, variety of food products
- Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working blenders, knives, etc.
- Position requires the ability to be on your feet for a long-extended part of your day, moving equipment or product up to 20 - 30 lbs.; reaching and kneeling daily
- Requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
- Position requires the ability to come to work at their "home store" location and be flexible to work at our 3 other sister stores in the city.
