The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the company’s vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring that they are functioning properly and well maintained. Additionally, the Fleet Maintenance Manager helps to maximize profitability by minimizing costs and creating efficient scheduling and service delivery workstreams.
The Fleet Maintenance Manager also plays an integral role in the hiring, training, and ongoing development of vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure that our highly skilled workforce is able to meet customer expectations. Essential Job Functions:

Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks and trailers and heavy equipment.

Prioritize and assign work to meet customers’ needs

Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of company’s assets

Control repair, inventory, and labor costs

Coach and mentor technicians

Monitor associate work levels

Manage facilities, assuring a clean and safe working environment

Maintain healthy relationships with fleet related vendors

Create and manage annual fleet maintenance budget
-
Provide timely communication to senior management and to direct reports
Required Experience:
-
3-5 years of fleet maintenance management experience preferred, or at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics.

Strong customer service and organizational skills required

Valid driver’s license required

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred

Must know how to budget & manage a P&L +5 years
-
Associates or Tech School degree preferred

Clean driving record and background
-
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Waste industry experience preferred
Physical Requirements:

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment

Ability to see clearly to inspect vehicles and repairs and read a variety of materials
