Title: Accountant (Financial Analyst)
Work Hours/Location: Full time (35-hour work week) Office Hours - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM in Albany, New York.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. 2-4 years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting setting preferred. Position is full time, in person, not remote.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Analyzes, records, verifies and reconciles financial data
- Assists with various financial research projects as well as undertaking research to find solutions to issues as they arise
- Assists with completing all required journal vouchers, refunds, encumbrances, and revenue transfer vouchers
- Maintains tracking spreadsheets and databases
- Analyzes and reconciles all bank accounts and credit cards on a monthly basis
- Assists with monitoring and maintaining disbursements appropriation charges
- Performs complex financial calculations, financial analysis, and account reconciliations as necessary
- Monitors and reports on various financial data, including bi-annual disbursement report preparation
- Reconciles mail management system on a daily basis
- Assists with the coordination of bi-annual supply room inventory count
- Assists with Bi-weekly, Month End and Fiscal Year End reconciliations and GL postings
- Assists the Director of Finance and Senior Accountant with audit, FOIL, and general information requests and documents.
- Contributes to the research, development and interpretation of administrative policies, internal controls, and procedures related to all finance processes.
Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience

- Utilize SQL and other tools to extract, manipulate, and analyze data for reporting purposes.
Skills:
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of financial statements and concepts.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis techniques.
- Experience with Bloomberg or similar financial software is a plus.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to forecast trends and interpret complex financial information accurately.
- Excellent business analysis skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
