Job Overview:
We are seeking a Support Analyst to join our team. As a Support Analyst, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our customers. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset.
Shipping and receiving administrators play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of a company. Here are some typical duties for a shipping and receiving admin:
1. **Coordinating Shipments**: This involves scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring they are properly packed, labeled, and ready for transportation.
2. **Inventory Management**: Keeping track of inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and updating records to accurately reflect stock levels.
3. **Communicating with Suppliers and Carriers**: Liaising with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries. This may involve negotiating shipping rates and resolving any issues that arise during transit.
4. **Documentation and Record Keeping**: Generating shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels. Maintaining accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels using computerized systems or spreadsheets.
5. **Quality Control**: Inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and match order specifications. Reporting any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate parties.
6. **Handling Returns and Exchanges**: Processing returned merchandise, inspecting items for damage or defects, and coordinating exchanges or refunds with customers or suppliers.
7. **Managing Receiving Area**: Organizing and maintaining the receiving area, including allocating space for incoming shipments, ensuring proper storage of goods, and keeping the area clean and organized.
8. **Safety and Compliance**: Adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for handling, storing, and shipping goods. This may include hazardous materials handling procedures and compliance with customs regulations for international shipments.
9. **Problem Solving**: Resolving issues that arise during the shipping and receiving process, such as delayed shipments, missing items, or damaged goods. This may involve communicating with various stakeholders to find solutions and prevent future problems.
10. **Continuous Improvement**: Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency in the shipping and receiving department. This may involve implementing new technology, optimizing workflows, or renegotiating contracts with suppliers and carriers.
Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Skills:
- Forklift operation experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge is preferred
- Warehouse experience is beneficial
- Proficiency in using hand tools to assemble or fabricate items
- Familiarity with power tools for various tasks
