We are looking for a responsible Receiving Clerk to receive, inspect and record shipments with raw material or products. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders.
A receiving clerk must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills. They must also have adequate physical strength to unload shippings as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers.
The goal is to ensure we receive the correct packages and stock them appropriately.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Accurately select flooring product order, palletize, & shrink-wrap each order, ensuring secure handling of the heavy material.
- Read shipping order to determine quantity & type of transportation needed.
- Ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents, gather, & maintain all data related to shipping activities.
- Collect all documentation for in/outboard freight & route to the proper record-keeping unit.
- Load & unload products from trailers using forklift truck & other material handling equipment.
- Schedule in/outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations.
- Contact carrier representative to make arrangements & issue instructions for loading products.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts & pallet jacks safely & efficiently.
- Store the products in proper places in the warehouse.
- Transport products to & from warehouse.
- Sort, pack, wrap, tie, & label products as per company procedures.
- Clean work area & equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood, & plastic.
- Maintain a clean, neat, & organized work environment.
- Keep an equipment checklist & perform preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Deliver products to various units in a safe & timely manner.
- Monitor & maintain accurate inventory.
- Follow company standards & legal regulations to ensure a safe & positive work atmosphere.
- Performs routine pre & post inspections & recommend repairs when needed.
- Study production schedule to determine material requirements, movements, & deliveries.
- Identify & report faulty equipment, damages, & safety concerns to supervisor immediately.
- Perform additional duties as required or requested.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- High School Education or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years’ Warehouse experience.
- 1 year experience operating a Forklift.
- Ability to use a computer &/or RF scanner.
- Good communication & organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions & work under pressure.
- Ability to lift up 50 lbs.
DESIRED:
- Knowledge of general manufacturing environment & practices.
- Business Acumen.
