Blue Springs Baptist Church is seeking a Minister of Students (Children – Youth, Grades Kindergarten – 12) to fill a Part-time position with flexible scheduling and paid vacation.
The successful candidate must:
# Be a growing Christian who displays a deep love for Jesus and has a strong desire to serve Him through ministry to and building community relationships with students and their families.
# Display maturity and knowledge of student ministry from prior training and/or student ministry involvement/experience.
# Possess a current driver’s license and be able to pass a background check and drug test.
# Be a self-starter who is able to multi-task, plan, prioritize, & lead weekly (currently Sunday afternoons/evenings, both on and off campus) ministry activities, school visitation/outreach, and other special events.
# Communicate with & coordinate well with the Pastor, Minister of Music/Worship, & other student ministry team members to plan & implement each week’s student ministry activities (e.g. on campus group meetings, worship, Bible teaching/discipleship, games, refreshments, & off-campus events), school visitation/outreach, and occasional special events (e.g. Plays/Dramas, Vacation Bible School, Mission Trips/Projects).
# Provide Biblically-based mentoring, spiritual guidance, and counsel to students and others in a safe, accountable, & confidential setting.
# Be flexible to allow the duties of this job to evolve and expand as the Student Ministry grows.
As Student Minister you will have the opportunity to use your calling and passion to reach and lead students and their families into a growing and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. You will play a vital role in creating meaningful weekly gatherings and experiences that will draw students to the Lord and His church. You will encourage and recruit members of the congregation to partner with you in developing and nurturing relationships with students and their families. You will select and purchase all needed teaching material, equipment, and supplies as budgeted and approved by the church.
