Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, preparing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This role will collaborate across departments to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications
- AA or bachelor’s degree with accounting emphasis or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years’ accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger accounting and journal entries
- Knowledge of GAAP Principles
- Intermediate knowledge in Excel and Power Queries
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Prior experience with account reconciliations and multi-state sales tax filings
- Accuracy, consistency, and organization in the performance of tasks are a priority
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support day to day transaction processing
- Prepare and report various sales and local excise taxes
- Responsible for Accounts Payable and tracking vendor contracts
- Assist with Cash Forecasting
- Prepare month-end journal entries and assist in month-end closing, including completion of various GL account reconciliations and related schedules
- Create supporting schedules for our annual external financial review
- Prepare royalty statements quarterly and track all related obligations throughout the year
- Assist with designing and implementing new procedures when business strategies change or to create more efficiencies, while maintaining any related internal control policies.
- Keep consistent process documentation for all critical tasks that are performed by this role.
