Position Summary:
We are recruiting a Prototype and Research Engineer to join our team in Tustin, CA. Our team provides solutions to patients suffering from neurological diseases. The position is on a fast-paced, early-research-phase, prototype team within Asahi Intecc USA Organization.
You will be immersed in many aspects of the medical device invention from ideation to manufacturing in our unique Research only department in a short period of time. From first-hand experience, you will gain greater responsibilities and perspectives than any other phases in the medical device R&D. By solving problems step-by-step, you will be profusely rewarded with new challenges and experience to propel your career.
Primary Responsibilities:
Under guidance, builds a biomedical prototype
Performs experiments to evaluate the built prototypes
Involves in the prototype and test refinement based on these hands-on operations
Completes testing and data analysis to achieve design and process development goals
Under guidance, generates a new concepts to meet specific design goals
Identify potential issues and provide solutions
Work with outside vendors to obtain prototype parts
Support invention disclosures
Support pre-clinical and clinical testing of devices
Support design reviews and physician visits
Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Passion to make a device: DIY spirit is enormously appreciated
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field
Experience working within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
Proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders (client and internal), end-users, business partners, and technical team members
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical device experience
Exposure to some manufacturing processes used in medical devices
Solidworks or other CAD experience and/or program languages: Matlab, Python.
Labview, Arduino, raspberry pi experience is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
