As a Licensed Benefits Advisor, you will have the rewarding opportunity to speak with customers across the country to assist them in selecting insurance plans that meet their needs. You will spend approximately 70% of your day in phone conversations with participants exercising patience and knowledge with caring explanations to enroll them in insurance products.
License Requirements: Life AND Health were required in Florida and California to start and then an application for Illinois, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia is required to start training.
This is a full-time temporary role that runs until the end of each year. We do ask our highest performers to stay on after the season and offer opportunities for advancement.
NOTE: **Multiple start dates anticipated, first class is slotted for the end of July.**
Pay by Location:
- Urbandale, IA 50398 - $27.50/hour
- Houston, TX 77002 - $25.50/hour
- Dallas, TX 75201 - $25.50/hour
- Sunrise, FL 33323 - $25.50/hour
- Clearwater, FL 33765 - $25.50/hour
Retention Bonus:
- $2500 retention bonus for completing the entire assignment and meeting licensing and attendance expectations.
- $3000 retention bonus to any returning contractors from previous OE sessions and meet licensing and attendance expectations.
Required Hours Per Day and/or Total Hours per Week:
- 40 hours per week
- 10% shift differential for any hours worked after 7 PM CST
Schedule: Shift start times begin at 6:55 AM EST with the latest start time at 11:30 AM EST with Two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch are scheduled daily
Home Office Requirements: Private quiet workspace and an internet speed of 50 Mbps
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for educating employees on available health and life benefits during their employer’s open enrollment season.
- Assist Employees navigate through the selection of health and life benefits.
- Influence and guide employee to the best solution for them and their families.
- Use a consultative approach to listen and assess customer insurance needs and appropriate eligibility.
- Conduct eligibility and needs analysis to determine a suitable plan.
- Effectively and empathetically communicate the costs and benefits of multiple insurance plans over the phone.
- Make plan recommendations based on participants' individual needs and assist the participant with the decision-making process.
- Work through scheduled and inbound calls with patience and an emphasis on service, not call volume.
- Work as a team player in a diverse, professional call center environment.
- Adhere to all legal regulations.
Skill Requirements:
- Active Life and Health Insurance license is required in both California and Florida. We will help get additional states as needed.
- Experience using Microsoft Office with a strong ability to juggle multiple open computer windows to answer questions while on the phone.
- Ability to learn new proprietary computer systems.
- Experience in a sales consulting environment is preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously in a self-paced, self-motivated team environment.
- Ability to communicate professionally and courteously.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance documents, detailed correspondence, procedure manuals, insurance applications, policies, and contracts.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
What makes you stand out:
- Two years of college coursework.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent.
- Prior call center experience.
- Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and verbal)
- Previous experience with Group Universal Life, Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident or Critical Illness products
