What You'll Do:
Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst include but are not limited to:
- Conducts complex reconciliation of Claims-related taxes and prizewinner taxes.
- Researches failed mobile cashes to ensure proper tracking for tax balancing and works with Office of IT and other Claims staff to resolve and follows up to completion.
- Assists with monthly tax summary report reconciliations.
- Locates missing claims and ensures all claims are accounted for and entered into the Claims Information System for tax balancing.
- Works with Office of IT and supervisor to resolve tax errors and issues as needed.
- Examines and analyzes W2G records and financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards for W2G printing. Tracks process to re-print and distribute W2Gs to customers. Provides W2G-related customer service to customers.
- In backup capacity, examines and analyzes claims entered for warrant and payment in OAKS and Claims Information System and examines and analyzes special claims (e.g., deferred prize, annuity claims, etc.).
- Revises and updates manuals for Claims accounting procedures and tasks. Revises Claims forms and documents.
- Provides regular Claims-related reports to various departments within the agency.
- Processes claims mail and mails out warrants to prizewinners on designated day(s) of the week.
- Prepares departmental records for records retention storage.
- Organizes and submits departmental requests for technical support to Office of IT for various claims-related errors and issues (e.g., Claims Information System errors, claims financial reports issues, etc.).
- During times of short staffing and absences, serves in backup capacity to other Claims department Financial Analysts for all accounts payable functions and all claims functions.
- Assists supervisor with training, onboarding and new customer account creation for Super Retailers. Travels throughout State to assist supervisor with training Super Retailers on prize claim processing. Provides customer service to Super Retailers
- Performs other duties and works on special projects as directed.

Qualifications
30 months experience or 30 months training in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 months experience or 6 months training in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or 12 months experience as Financial Associate, 66561.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
