We are seeking a talented and experienced System Engineer to join our dynamic IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. As a System Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our clients' IT infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure their systems' reliability, security, and performance.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in providing Tier 3 level technical support. This individual must research and investigate sound solutions for business technology environments and implement security measures to protect computer networks and information.
They will diagnose and resolve technical issues that the team cannot fix. They will manage and oversee monitoring and security tools and services and perform remote diagnostics tasks. Most notable is the ability to provide outstanding customer service by interacting directly with clients and effectively communicating back to the client clearly and concisely. Provide on-site client service as required.
Responsibilities
- System Design and Implementation: Design and deploy complex IT systems and infrastructure solutions tailored to clients' needs.
- System Administration: Administer and maintain servers, networks, and associated hardware and software components.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently, minimizing downtime.
- Security: Implement and enforce security measures, including firewall configurations, access controls, and vulnerability assessments. Report and respond to any security breaches or viruses.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system resources.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Develop technical processes to improve service delivery.
- Client Support: Provide exceptional technical support to clients, addressing their IT-related concerns and inquiries.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure seamless service delivery.
- On-call: Must assist with on-call responsibilities and be an escalation point for after-hours issues.
Skills
- Server Administration: Proficiency in Windows Server and other relevant operating systems. Experience with Active Directory and other authentication methods. Experience with on-premises Exchange.
- Networking: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Cloud Services: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and services. Office 365 Administration.
- Scripting: Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and task simplification.
- Security: Understanding best security practices, including firewall management and threat detection.
- Hardware: Knowledge of server hardware and storage solutions such as Veeam. Experience with network storage technologies such as NAS. Experience supporting data centers.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Nagios, iLO).
- Documentation: Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability and comfort working directly with clients.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technology-related issues by providing on-site and remote support. Excellent root cause analysis skills. Strong attention to detail.
- Decision Making: Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergencies.
- License and own vehicle. Willingness to travel within the Phoenix Metro Area
Experiences with or having the following is a plus:
- Experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining medium to large-sized environments
- VMware certifications such as VCP
- Microsoft certifications such as MCP, MCITP, MCSE, MCSA
- Veeam certifications such as VMCE

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
