Job description
The Therapist is responsible to act as a support system for individuals admitted to Impact Outpatient Program. The Therapist is responsible to act as a guide to teach individuals challenged with a substance use or co-occurring problem how to modify their behavior with the intention of attaining long-term sustained sobriety by using evidenced-based therapeutic approaches, interventions and modalities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
1. EDUCATION:
Graduated from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or health-related field.
2. EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working directly with clients having substance related disorders and 2 years of group therapy experience using a variety of treatment modalities preferred.
3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Licensure to practice clinical discipline in the appropriate state, as applicable, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counseling and Licensed Certified Addiction Counselor preferred.

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Position is required to work in a temperature-controlled environment; 80% - 90% of the time spent indoors.
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION
Responsible to conduct weekly individual and family sessions with clients and their families.
Responsible for establishing a positive and trusting relationships with clients and their families.
Responsible for facilitating groups daily and according to the program schedule.
Responsible for implementing various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address client situations.
Responsible to continually assess client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatment interventions.
Responsible to document client progress and maintain concise, timely and adequate notes on all client, family and support network contacts and sessions.
Responsible for developing and implementing individual treatment plans based on information gathered in the assessments.
Responsible for completing substance use assessments using ASAM Patient Placement criteria for admissions, continued stay and discharge.
Responsible for following client confidentiality as outlined in 42 CFR Part 2 and 45 CFR - HIPAA and relevant state laws.
Responsible for coordinating services and consulting with treating practitioners for all co-occurring disordered clients and treatment plan accordingly.
Responsible to attend and participate in weekly clinical meetings and provide clinical input.
Responsible to participate in in-service and online training as required.
Responsible for providing individual supportive therapy and symptom management, ensuring immediate changes are made to the treatment plan as client’s needs change.
Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments (ASAM admission, Bio-psychosocial assessment, Trauma Screen, Columbia Suicide Risk Assessment), as required and medically necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
