The Building Attendant is a part-time position that is responsible for monitoring the front desk; registering patrons for programs; taking payments for programs, and attending in-services.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Reports for duty on time and in proper attire.
Monitors the front desk.
Receives incoming telephone calls and answers in a friendly and professional manner.
Takes messages and oversees that they are received by the correct party.
Answers questions asked by patrons.
Maintains current knowledge of programs, activities, and services being offered.
Processes facility rental forms.
Accurately fills out all receipts.
Unlocks the building, turns on the lights, and prepares the cash register for daily operations.
Locks all doors and turns lights off when closing.
Accurately fills out all cash register worksheets, counts all money, and deposits the money in the appropriate location at the conclusion of every shift.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Makes recommendations and requests for the purchase of new equipment or supplies.
- Helps the Office Manager, Recreation Coordinator, and the Superintendent of Recreation when needed.
- Participates in training sessions.
- Enforces all facility rules.
- Makes copies of materials when necessary.
- Maintains the office in a neat and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be at least 18 years old and possess related work knowledge, ability, and skill.
Ability to prove leadership skills.
Ability to monitor the front desk.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral communication.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Ability to organize tasks.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
