Required Schedule: Monday - Thursday: 3pm - 9pm EST and Sunday Afternoons.
Due to the heavy afternoon case load, we will only consider applicants WITHOUT a fulltime job and who are not working for other tutoring companies.
A MINIMUM of 53 hours a month is required but more is strongly encouraged! Please see explanation of pay at the bottom of description.
Who we are:
For over 25 years, Educational Connections Tutoring and Test Prep has provided one-to-one instruction that students need to improve their grades, critical thinking strategies, organizational skills, and much more.
We believe that every student, even the most accomplished ones, can use a little help with optimizing their study habits. For that reason, we incorporate skills like staying organized, planning ahead to reduce procrastination, and study techniques into most everything we do. We offer four services: Subject Tutoring, Executive Function Coaching, SAT and ACT preparation, and full cycle college counseling.
At Educational Connections, you'll have the opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of students through completely individualized, one-on-one, online tutoring.
Job Responsibilities:

- Meet with students in a 1 on 1 virtual setting using Lessonspace, Google Meets, or other video meeting platform
- Use interactive activities to teach executive function skills such as organization, time management, study techniques, and planning within the student's assigned schoolwork and classes.
- Assist students with homework, projects, note taking skills, and studying during sessions.
- Communicate with parents and EC Tutoring Staff as needed to set up session times, address concerns, or provide updates.
- Complete session notes within 24 hours of completing a tutoring session in our Tutor/Student Management system
- Attend paid tutor development webinars - Tutors are also invited to join EC Tutoring’s parent webinars which cover a wide range of useful topics.
- Utilize a wide range of online resources and tools to make lessons interactive and engaging. Popular tools include NearPod and Jamboard.
Job Requirements:
- Hold a valid teaching certification in any state
- Live in the United States
- 10+ years of high school or a mix of middle school and High school English/Humanities teaching experience
- Experience working with students with learning differences or special education needs including but not limited to ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and autism.
- Experience in AP or IB coursework is preferred but not required
- Experience teaching Executive Function Skills, College Readiness Class, Study Skills, etc.
- Be able to create engaging and interactive activities to keep students engaged
- MUST complete all screening questions and assessment to be considered!
Benefits:
- Competitive Pay - September - May - Base salary of $1773.33 per month for the first 53 hours of the month. All hours over 53 are paid at $40/hour.
