Duties:
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Help with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including the use of lifting systems if required
- Implement behavior management strategies for clients with special needs, such as autism
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of client care and any changes in condition
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for clients' needs
- Familiarity with systems related to social work or healthcare is a plus
- Ability to lift and transfer clients safely using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is beneficial
- Basic understanding of medication administration procedures is desired
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
