POSITION
As Production Assistant you will set up, test, and adjust manufacturing machinery or equipment, using any combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computer technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Production
- Maintain inventory database and initiate order of product when trigger levels are reached.
- Handle procurement, product ordering and vendor management for Equipment.
- Receive product and prepare for stock, including inspection, labeling, packaging, etc.
- Parts/supplies runs and order pickups local only, e.g., Lowe’s, Smith Turf and Irrigation.
Order fulfillment
- Pick product from stock and assemble customer orders.
- QC check products and orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Package products, samples for shipment to customers.
- Package large products in wooden crates.
Shipping
- Use shipper's software and/or websites to create shipments and print labels and other required documentation.
- Receive shipments, sign for them, and deliver them to their intended recipients. (Equipment and Calibration only)
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and order and/or provide levels when needed.
- Trained forklift driver or willing to be trained to drive a forklift.
- Order crates and custom shipping supplies as necessary.
Engineering assistant
- Assist the engineering manager as needed, including tasks such as building products, testing and developing new products, improvements to products or manufacturing processes, maintaining neat and organized work spaces, and other duties of a like nature as needed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills, and personal attributes:
- At least one year of previous experience.
- Must be computer literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have prior shipping and receiving experience.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow directions and respond accordingly.
- Highly trustworthy and can exhibit confidentiality.
- Able to work independently and can multi-task flawlessly.
- Listens and communicates well, both written and verbal.
- Ability to check for defects and identify and distinguish between colors.
- Good motor skills and the ability to do fine assembly.
- Experience in a start-up or pilot production environment preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
