JOB SUMMARY: The Data Architect is responsible for designing and implementing the data integration processes to ensure seamless flow of data across systems for our organization and our Association partners. Design, create, deploy, and manage the organization's data architecture, ensuring that its data assets are aligned with its business goals, are secure, and can be effectively utilized for decision-making and strategic planning. The Data Architect primarily collaborates with management and Association partners, analysts, and IT teams to understand structural requirements and define standards for storing, consuming, integrating, and managing data across the organization and translating it into a usable blueprint.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design and implement a secure, scalable, and efficient data architecture on Azure, utilizing Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and other PaaS offerings.
- Model complex datasets to support advanced financial reporting initiatives.
- Work closely with analysts and data stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate business needs into robust, scalable data models.
- Aid in implementing data governance and quality processes to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Optimize data architecture for high performance and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure the data architecture aligns with security policies and practices.
- Stay updated on the latest Azure features and PaaS products to continuously improve and innovate the data architecture.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Seven (7+) years' experience as a Data Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on Azure PaaS products.
- Expertise in data modeling techniques and warehousing principles, specifically schema design.
- Strong understanding of Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and other Azure services relevant to data management and analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages such as Python or Scala for data manipulation and transformation.
- Experience implementing data governance and quality processes.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and how data architecture supports AI initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
D esired Additional Skills:
- Certifications in Azure Data Engineering or Architecture.
- Experience with data visualization tools and BI platforms.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and data science models.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical noise levels for an open, cubicle-styled environment.
