As a nursing faculty, you will help shape, mold, guide, and mentor the next generation of nurses.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field in which they teach (long term care, geriatric population).
- Master's or higher degree required from an accredited university or college in nursing
- Current California registered nurse license and in good standing
- Working knowledge of a learning management systems Canvas
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office products as needed.
- Compliance with state, federal, and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current immunizations including COVID-19 vaccination and booster
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity to a diverse cultural and demographic student population
Expectation
- Active engagement in professional development, including faculty meeting attendance
- Active engagement in assessments and evaluations for students, academics, and curriculum related to the program
- Serve as a professional role model, including behavior to the student population.
- Adhere to institutions' policies and procedures
- Serve as a role model, facilitator, and mentor for the students.
- Clarify student's expectations in the clinical facility through orientation and pre-clinical conferences.
- Assess and evaluate students' level of skills and knowledge related to the delivery of patient care.
- Ascertain student's clinical experience during post-conference and provide constructive feedback to the students during clinical rotation.
- Complete mid-term and final clinical evaluation of the student performances.
