Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating the Coalition’s statewide housing and economic justice initiatives, SAIL Project, and enhancing domestic violence program’s capacity to provide housing and economic justice strategies. To include collaborative advocacy in the areas of housing, economic support, educational support, or childcare resources which help meet the needs of survivors of domestic violence.

Outreach
Develop and maintain resources specific to systemic responses to domestic violence, including
but not limited to housing and economic justice.
Coordinate all DVAS logistics for the SAIL Project.
Review SAIL files for inclusion of accurate and appropriate documents.
Track SAIL referrals and reporting trends.
Plan and coordinate regional SAIL networking meetings.
Regularly contact SAIL Specialists to ensure ACADV provides the support and resources needed.
Maintain systems for SAIL Specialists' contacts, including email distribution lists, mailing lists,
listservs, and group chat forums.
Identify areas of need regarding technical assistance on programming related to survivors
achieving self-sufficiency through access to housing, education, employment, childcare, or other
assistance and develop strategies for cultivating and promoting positive relationships with
members and partners.
Attend community events (in-person and online) as an ACADV Collaborative Representative.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinate the Economic Empowerment Project of Alabama
Train domestic violence program advocates on the All-State Curriculum.
Assist with implementing the Statewide Safe Housing Project and the Domestic Violence
Housing First Program, including historically marginalized communities.
Provide training and technical assistance for culturally specific organizations, domestic violence
programs, anti-poverty agencies, and local, state, and government agencies working with victims
of domestic violence.
Cultivate relationships across diverse communities to provide new opportunities for survivors
around housing, education, employment, financial capability, health, mental health, and stability
that are responsive to their cultures and identities.
Stay current with HUD/VAWA developments as they pertain to domestic violence as well as
monitoring housing/homelessness systems in Alabama, strengthening service provider
participation in local Continuum of Cares (COCs), addressing tenant/landlord issues, increasing
understanding of and responsiveness to the Violence Against Women Act regulates among
housing programs and agencies.
Develop and implement strategies to address centralized database concerns while supporting
service providers in protecting survivor confidentiality and adhering to applicable statutes.
Gather national and local research and best practices information to assist in engaging/expanding
DV provider capacity for conducting housing and economic justice work.
Collaboration:
Provide training and technical assistance to SAIL Specialists and collaborative partners.
Work with culturally specific organizations and domestic violence programs to connect survivors
with housing and economic empowerment resources to promote stability, safety, and well-being
for survivors and their children.
Sustain and create new partnerships to develop asset-building tools for survivors to benefit from.
Quickly assess and analyze complex and challenging issues and communicate information and
actions needed in a timely and responsive manner.
Demonstrate professionalism, tact, and diplomacy while representing the ACADV in meetings,
written correspondence, and other roles.
Assist other Coalition staff in significant projects as appropriate.
Represent ACADV on outside committees and at statewide and national events or conferences as
authorized by the Executive Director.
Reporting:
Coordinate grant requirements for both the SAIL and Economic Justice Projects.
Assist with the preparation of various report summaries of ACADV activities and statistical
information.
The SAIL & Economic Justice Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director.
Prepare a monthly staff report to be provided to the Executive Director
Assist with applicable grant progress reports and grant tracking in a detailed and timely manner.
Prepare written grant reports on assigned grant deliverables
Perform other duties as may be necessary or assigned by the Executive Director.
Responsible for leading the efforts to increase individual capacity.
Communicate project completion or project delays directly to the supervisor in writing.
