Position Description:
The Communications Manager at FPC Houston is tasked with managing the timely delivery of digital and print deliverables for internal ministry clients and developing and implementing a variety of churchwide projects that help advance the mission and vision of FPC Houston. The individual in this role must be able to synthesize and articulate information and provide creative direction to help each internal client achieve their ministry’s goals. The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter who can prioritize their workload amidst tight deadlines and work with a variety of people and work styles. This individual must be service-minded and possess superior interpersonal and written communication skills.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages the intake and assignment of incoming projects through FPC Comm’s project management tool, coordinates project status reviews in weekly meetings, coordinates with the client throughout the engagement, and ensures on-time delivery.
- Manages Communications messaging calendar and helps to develop craft core copy to be used across all platforms.
- Participates in defining and executing digital advertising, promotion, and social media strategy.
- Manages social media calendar and social media tool(s) to ensure key themes are expressed across all platforms and defined KPIs are met
- Writing and/or editing weekly communications and key quarterly/annual deliverables, including weekly emails, brochures, and giving materials
- Management of assigned website areas, including planning and implementing content updates of assigned areas to optimize for engagement, regularly reviewing assigned site areas to ensure content is current and compliant, and coordinating with internal designer(s) and/or web vendor to plan site enhancements.
- Management of FPC app and content, including ongoing content updates, planning calendar, and technical improvements
- Coordinate and report on team metrics (web traffic, outreach goals, digital campaigns, etc.)
- Contribute to the continuity of the FPC brand through alignment to defined brand standards, voice, key messages, and other guidelines.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, English, or another related field
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience managing communications projects for internal clients and/or agency experience.
- Experience writing content for multiple digital platforms (samples will be requested)
- Experience using either Chicago Manual of Style or AP Stylebook
- Experience developing and managing social media content and campaigns via Facebook, Facebook Ad Manager, Instagram, and Hootsuite (or equivalent)
Additional Skills (Experience we love to see):
- Experience with WordPress or other content management systems (CMS).
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Photoshop.
- Experience managing video production, website, and/or app projects.
- Experience with Asana
