Job Purpose: The Buyer/ Import Logistics Planner purpose is to maintain high customer fill rates, while minimizing inventory investment through the evaluation of the MRP, placing timely PO’s with suppliers, keeping PO due dates accurate, and following up with suppliers and internal customers on supply issues. This role also is responsible for Logistics movement of containers from the US port to our facility, and data entry of invoice.
- Evaluate System MRP messages.
- Schedule truck for port pick up.
- Enter and file receiving documents.
- Process Purchase Orders to Suppliers.
- Maintain Purchase Order Status and Monitor Shipments.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Identify, research and resolve all incoming inventory issues.
- Negotiate with local suppliers to obtain value pricing.
- Identify cost improvements and services with suppliers thru evaluation and negotiation process.
- Schedule import and domestic shipments to our warehouses.
- Assist and arrange all sample request from affiliates.
- Set up new product and discontinued product in the system as needed.
- Update all ETA (Estimated Time Arrival) in the system.
- Checking all back orders and following up on status.
- Process transfer requests to warehouses.
- Ordering of office supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BS degree and 1-3 years’ experience, or High school diploma and 3-5 years’ experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
