Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Registered Welding Inspector to ensure the quality and integrity of welded structures and components in our manufacturing operations. The Registered Welding Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections, interpreting welding codes and standards, and providing guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Perform visual, non-destructive, and destructive inspections of welded joints, components, and structures to ensure compliance with specified requirements, codes, and standards.
- Interpret welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) to verify that welding procedures and practices meet the necessary criteria.
- Conduct pre-weld and post-weld treatments
- Utilize various inspection techniques and equipment
- Document inspection results, including recording observations, measurements, and test data accurately and maintain detailed inspection records and reports
- Collaborate with supervisors and welders to address non-conformities, defects, and quality issues identified during inspections - providing recommendations for corrective actions and rework procedures
- Conduct audits of welding procedures and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual specifications
- Provide technical guidance and support to welding personnel
- Stay updated on industry developments, changes in welding codes and standards, and emerging inspection technologies to maintain proficiency and ensure the implementation of best practices
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- 406, 407, MC331's or combination - 3yr cert or own CT#
- Ability to perform all DOT inspection processes and documentation of inspections
- Must provide own steel toed boots
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Experience in welding inspection, with a strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and fabrication techniques
- Thorough knowledge of welding codes and standards, including AWS, ASME, API, and other relevant specifications
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and technical documents
- Experience with a variety of inspection methods and equipment, including visual inspection tools and NDT techniques
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate inspection findings, technical information, and recommendations
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Pay: $22.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 80 per week
