Are you good with your hands? Have you worked in a shop? Do you have technical skills?
TXRX Labs: TXRX Labs is a unique organization. If you want to work here and excel, you will need to understand what that means. We are a non-profit manufacturer and a makerspace. We design, prototype, and produce electronic devices, but in general, we make things, all kinds of things, with crazy creative designers, skilled fabricators, and automated machines.
And we helped create the East End Maker Hub, where we support over 40 other manufacturers with fabrication services and labor talent development. So when you interview at TXRX Labs, you are also interviewing for over 40 other companies.
Electronics Technician: We are seeking electronic technicians with high level skills. IPC and WHMA certifications are helpful, but only if you can do the work efficiently and meet the standard. Experience with surface mount automation is useful, but we seek talent that can program and set up SMT machines too. Most importantly, we want problem solvers who have a passion for electronics and an ability to learn new skills.
Electronics technician duties include:
- Read schematics and assemble PCB boards to stated specifications.
- Solder PCB boards to IPC A-610 Class 3 standard.
- Evaluate PCB boards and rework to meet IPC A-610 Class 3 standard.
- Crimp wire connectors to IPC-WHMA-A-620 standard.
- Assemble wire harnesses to IPC-WHMA-A-620 standard.
Modern Manufacturing: The TXRX Labs Modern Manufacturing Job Training Program is a 2-day intensive hands-on skills assessment where students are evaluated on their soldering skills, ability to follow instructions, and trainability.
The first day focuses exclusively on basic soldering techniques for thru-hole and surface mount technology components.
The second day focuses on both cable assembly and wire harnessing techniques, as well as crimping for different assortments of wire terminals.
Local manufacturers, many co-located at the East End Maker Hub, are seeking workers with the skills listed above!
We will be testing your abilities to either find a match for TXRX Labs, OR one of our manufacturing employer partners.
Eligible workers may be a fit for a paid apprenticeship or internship with one of our employer partners.
