Recovia is seeking a full-time Bilingual Patient Advocate / Patient Care Coordinator at our Midtown Phoenix Clinic: 337 E Coronado Rd #201, Phoenix, Arizona 85004
We are a successful intensive outpatient treatment program that provides chronic pain, mental health, and substance use treatment all under one roof. We utilize a mind-body-social approach to treat the whole person. We have 9 locations across Arizona and virtual care.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (1-hour lunch) - Full-time

Pay range: $19.00 - $21.00/hour - (Based on experience and expectation combined). $21.00/hour is the highest/max starting pay we can offer. However, we have the opportunity for a raise yearly based on productivity/effort.
Note: The hours and pay range for this role cannot be changed. This is NOT a work from home position.
JOB SUMMARY of PATIENT ADVOCATE:
A Patient Advocate is a vital link that coordinates communication between the patient, their loved ones/family members, medical professionals, insurance companies, and the Recovia provider and office staff. An advocate is a supportive resource that helps guide the patient through the Recovia program by navigating program barriers, answering questions, explaining financial and insurance information and identifying any care problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating communication between the patient, their loved ones, medical professionals, insurance companies, and the Recovia staff
- Going out into the clinic lobby at the top of the hour daily to interact with patients as they are waiting to be seen: help answer any questions, see how they are doing, provide outside / community resources as needed, helping patients navigate any barriers or challenges that may arise
- Conduct bi-weekly check-ins with patients
- Contacting patients before and after appointments to follow up on their experience and visits
- Contacting patients who cancel or don't show up to appointments
- Explaining financial and insurance information with patients
- Be an advocate for patients
SKILLS NEEDED for PATIENT ADVOCATE:
- Bachelors degree in relevant field (preferred) or equivalent experience (at least 2 years)
- Must be Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
- Must have Medical Insurance knowledge and experience: must be familiar with major insurance plans, PPO/HMO, deductibles, copays, co-ins, etc. Must be able to explain insurance benefits to patients cofmortably and understand how insurance works.
- Must have patient navigation, patient advocacy, care coordination, or medical administrative experience
- Must have strong communication and listening skills to all audiences (ages 18 - elderly individuals) and not afraid to communicate in person, over the phone, and via email to patients
- Strong problem solving and networking skills
- Energetic / outgoing / bubbly personality and positive attitude
- Leadership experience
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
