Position Title: Experienced Private Utility Locating Technician
Experience: Minimum 2 years

Responsibilities:
- Site Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis of work sites to identify potential utility locations. Review construction plans, maps, and other relevant documents to understand the layout of utilities.
- Use of Specialized Equipment: Operate specialized equipment, such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and electromagnetic locators, to detect and locate underground utilities.
- Marking and Flagging: Clearly mark the positions of utilities using flags, paint, or other designated markers to provide clear guidance to construction crews.
- Communication: Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and project managers to convey accurate information regarding the location of utilities. Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of utility locations for future reference and project documentation. Create utility drawings and maps based on field observations and measurements.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents during utility locating activities. Take appropriate measures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others on the job site.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address challenges or discrepancies in utility information, taking corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve issues related to utility locations.
- Continuous Training: Stay informed about advancements in utility locating technology and techniques. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to utility locating.
- Field Reporting: Provide accurate and timely reports on utility locations and any issues encountered during the locating process. Document any changes or modifications made to the original utility plans.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to utility locating.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to verify the accuracy of utility markings and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with clients or property owners to explain the utility locating process and address any concerns they may have.

Job Requirements:
- Honesty and Integrity: Upholding these core values of RHD is essential.
- Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 10% - 15% of the time) mainly in GA, SC, NC, AL, and FL. Rarely do out-of-town jobs carry over a weekend.
- Driver's License: A valid GA driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background check for high-security locations like airports, military bases, and specific construction sites.
- Drug Test: Ability to pass a drug test (we are a Georgia Certified Drug-Free company).
- Safety and Detail: Work with a strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
- Blueprint Reading: Capability to read construction plans and create utility drawings.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in PC and Microsoft applications, including file management and basic computer functions.
- Physical Requirements: Mobility, dexterity, and the ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods. Must also be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Outdoor Work: Most of the technician's time will be spent on customer job sites, often outdoors and exposed to the elements.
- Work Hours: Expect to work 40-50 hours per week, Monday thru Friday. Weekend work is occasionally available if desired.
Compensation: Based on experience.
