Purpose of Position:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all manufacturing process equipment, facilities and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, routine repairs and calibration with minimal down time.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Establish and maintain CMMS (FIIX) scheduled maintenance triggers, workorders, and system refinements.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
- Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- CNC maintenance: Troubleshooting/Diagnostic skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and tooling.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Organization of parts storage and tool storage.
- Provides knowledge transfer where inquiry requires higher level of expertise.
- Maintain/troubleshoot electrical and automated controls using schematics and electrical drawings associated with manufacturing and systems
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and technical support of facility electrical requirements.
- Use computers and/or machine interfaces to access, maintain and/or acquire data.
- Establish and maintain preventative maintenance procedures for all electrical and mechanical systems.
- Identify and locate required parts for failed systems
- Cross-train other technicians in a timely and professional manner.
- Timely communication of technical problems and issues affecting plant performance to management
- This position requires occasional overtime, call-ins, and some scheduled weekend work
- Document repair information, create standard operating procedures for repetitive tasks, and share knowledge to mentor others
- Administer lock-out, tag-out program
- Oversee implementation and administration of NFPA70E
- Cost control relating to electrical maintenance
- Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge to the work.
- Continually look for opportunities to improve the manufacturing process and department.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all company Quality Management System policies and procedures
Other responsibilities assigned, as required.
Quantitative Data:
- The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a key input to customer satisfaction and on-time delivery
- Performance is measured by overdue work orders, and unplanned downtime as reported by the CMMS.
Organizational Structure:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Director, Operations.
Key Contacts:
Machining and Form in Place team. Director of Operations, Production Managers, Department Leads, Quality. All aspects of this position require constant interaction with employees and management.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
It is expected that the Facilities Maintenance Technician possess these critical skills through prior knowledge and/or Modus training:
- Must possess a strong Electrical/Electronic background with a minimum of 2-5 years of progressive Automated Controls, Programming, Troubleshooting in a manufacturing equipment/facility maintenance environment (medical device, aerospace or pharmaceutical related operations a plus.)
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems logically and quickly
- Strong troubleshooting skills relating to electrical and mechanical systems
- Previous experience working with maintenance management systems
- Previous experience working with equipment vendors / customer support centers
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communicational skills with all levels of the organization
- Mathematical ability to perform and/or understand the calculations used in qualifications and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and technical data.
- Supports employee(s) by answering questions and assisting where needed.
- Performs the day-to-day responsibilities of assigned position.
- Able to Set up & Operate common machine shop support equipment.
- Excellent communication and basic math skills.

- Strong ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English, bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
- Must be physically present with regular and dependable attendance.
- Experience with MS Office 365 preferred
- Must be able to stand for extended hours
- Performs miscellaneous assignments as required and/or requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Environment
The facilities department is located in the warehouse. The warehouse area may be dusty, odorous, noisy, and subject to changing temperatures with outdoor weather.
The employee will adhere to all Quality Management System policies, procedures as well as 5S processes, and plant safety.
