We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to assist in our busy clinic. The right candidate will utilize their leadership skills and compassion to help clients make informed choices about their reproductive health and encourage women to get preventative medical care. A successful candidate will also be able to effectively communicate with patients, work within the clinic's policies and procedures, and keep the clinic running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient care and medical procedures
- Perform medical administrative tasks in electronic health record
- take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight and pulse
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures
- Administer/order medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and collect specimen for testing
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments and preventative care
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate and caring demeanor
- Ability to accurately take and record vital signs
- Experience in medical documentation and following established protocols for procedure setup and processing of medical instruments for sterilization
- Familiarity with coding systems for medical procedures and diagnosis
