We are Southern Maryland's leading organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and the promotion of positive mental and behavioral health through crisis intervention, therapy and education. With more than 19 programs in 6 counties (Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Howard, Prince George's and St. Mary's), our team of professionals provides services to more than 4,500 clients each year.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
School Therapists are responsible for working with a great multidisciplinary team to provide quality therapeutic services to children and families in school or at home. We offer training and clinical growth integral to position! This is a full-time exempt position, reporting to the Clinical Director and/or the Clinical Coordinator.
- Schedule - 40-hour work week (8 or 10 hours days)
- Pay - $82,000 - $88,000 per year – commensurate with license level and years of experience as a licensed clinician.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide individual and group counseling to children in school setting and/or home setting.
- Provide clinical evaluations in cases where abuse has not yet been determined.
- Provide assistance to parents, school personnel and secondary clients related to needs of primary child clients.
- Testify in court and/or other legal proceedings on behalf of child client per court order or when privilege is waived; may also include writing letters & reports to the court.
- Advocate for clients with other service agencies as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention counseling as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Maryland (MD) State Licensure (LGPC, LGSW, LCPC, LCSW etc).
- Obtain and maintain professional liability insurance.
- Experience counseling/working school-aged children.
- Understanding of cultural diversity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Successfully complete State and Federal background investigation and drug test.
